The park doesn’t open until 9am! Ugh, I’m sorry, that’s a big oversight on my part. I’ll still be there on time.
AND the gps directions have deleted themselves. WHY?! This will work too:
HEY HEY ATLANTA! Y’all, I know it’s going to be SO HOT, but we are doing this!
Huge thanks to REI for making this happen! They are sponsoring the hike AND providing SNACKS. And no, it won’t be some energy bar or freeze-dried scenario.
LOCATION: Sweetwater Creek State Park (Lithia Springs)
TIME: 8am (Gotta get a leg up on that heat!)
TRAIL STATS: less than 3 miles, less than 200 ft. elevation gain, loop. We will be doing a variation of this trail: https://www.atlantatrails.com/hiking-trails/sweetwater-creek-hiking-the-red-trail/
MEETING SPOT: Interpretive Center
DOGS & KIDS: Low drama dogs are welcome. Kids are welcome, but I can’t promise kid-appropriate conversations within a group of adults.

BEFORE JOINING ONE OF OUR GROUP HIKES:
We want you to to have the most fun and supportive experience possible! Ask yourself, “how does my body like to hike?” No hike is “one size fits all” and choosing the wrong trail could potentially harm you. What is your ideal mileage? Elevation gain? Feel free to ask any questions if you don’t know what some of this means. Beginners are so welcome! xo
