Group Hike – D.C.! – Rock Creek Park

RSVP on facebook or on the form at the bottom. It is super important I know who is coming!
Unlikely Hikers creates safer, supportive outdoor community for people underrepresented in outdoors culture. We hike together as a group. No hiker left behind! Absolutely no diet or weight loss talk. Be mindful of gender pronouns, group dynamics, microaggressions, cultural appropriation and different physical ability levels.
I could not be happier to come back to D.C.! LET’S HIKE!
DATE: Saturday, May 5th.
LOCATION: Rock Creek Park. We’ll be meeting at the Nature Center.
TIME: 10am
TRAIL STATS: less than 5 miles, less than 400 ft. elevation gain, loop. We will be doing a variation of this trail: (includes GPS parking coordinates, which I’ll verify the day before our hike!)

PARKING: FREE! Work out carpooling in comments below. Also, public transportation goes here, too!
DOGS & KIDS: Low drama dogs are ok. Kids are welcome, but I can’t promise kid-appropriate conversations within a group of adults.
This hike is sponsored by, REI. We’ll have some snacks and beverages at the end, thanks to them!
You can read some of my thoughts on group hiking here and get a good idea of what you’re in for:

We want you to to have the most fun and supportive experience possible! Ask yourself, “how does my body like to hike?” No hike is “one size fits all” and choosing the wrong trail could potentially harm you. What is your ideal mileage? Elevation gain? Feel free to ask any questions if you don’t know what some of this means. Beginners are so welcome! xo

RSVP on facebook or on this form. It is super important I know who is coming! NOTE: You will only hear from me if something changes.
